The Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) has launched the 4th Teaching Skills Competition for Pre-primary and Primary teachers and the 2nd Competition for Form One teachers in Secondary Schools across Tanzania Mainland.
Teachers will compete in areas such as early reading skills, basic English pronunciation, and subject mastery in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Business Studies.
Participants must prepare a 10–15 minute lesson plan, teach using participatory methods, record the session, and submit the video between 9 December 2025 and 30 January 2026 via the TIE competition website.
Winners will receive cash prizes, teaching tools, and national recognition
4TH TEACHING SKILLS COMPETITION 2025/2026 – TANZANIA MAINLAND
The Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) has officially announced the 4th Teaching Skills Competition for teachers of Pre-primary and Primary Schools, along with the 2nd Competition for Secondary School teachers teaching Form One. The competition aims to enhance teaching quality, promote innovation, and strengthen 21st-century teaching methods.
The competition includes teachers of Pre-primary (early reading skills), Primary (basic English language skills), and Secondary (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Business Studies). Teachers must design a 10–15 minute competency-based lesson plan, teach the lesson, record a video, and submit it online through the TIE portal.

MAELEZO ZAIDI SOMA TANGAZO LOTE HAPA
TIE will reward the top five teachers, with the first three receiving cash prizes, teaching tools, certificates, and their schools receiving projectors. All winners will have their lessons re-recorded at TIE studios and uploaded to the national Digital Learning System (LMS) and aired on TET Soma Kwanza TV.
Teachers are encouraged to participate and showcase excellence in teaching that improves student learning outcomes.
