The University of Dodoma (UDOM) is a public university located in the city of Dodoma, Tanzania. The university was established in 2007 through the University of Dodoma Act and began operations in 2008. The establishment of UDOM was part of Tanzania’s efforts to address the challenges of education and development in the country, particularly in the central region where Dodoma is located. UDOM offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields, including education, natural sciences, social sciences, and business studies. The university has five campuses located in different parts of Dodoma, including the main campus at Hombolo, the College of Education at Chang’ombe, the College of Health Sciences at Ntyuka, the College of Informatics and Virtual Education at Kikuyu, and the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at Kikuyu. UDOM is committed to providing high-quality education and conducting research that addresses the challenges facing Tanzania and the broader African region. The university has partnerships and collaborations with various institutions and organizations, both locally and internationally, to support its mission and goals.
