About us
Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited is a freight and forwarding service provider wholly owned by
the Government of Republic of Zambia under the Industrial Development Corporation Group of
companies in Lusaka, Zambia.
1. Key Responsibilities:
i) Ensuring that all necessary documents, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices,
packing lists, and certificates of origin, are accurately prepared and in order.
ii) Checking the accuracy and completeness of documentation to ensure compliance with
customs regulations.
iii) Preparing and submitting customs declarations in accordance with local laws and
trade agreements.
iv) Communicating with customs officials to facilitate inspections, address queries, and
resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process.
v) Coordinating and overseeing the physical inspection of goods by customs authorities
to ensure that the process is completed efficiently.
vi) Ensuring that the cargo matches the description provided in the documentation and
that it meets all regulatory requirements.
vii) Maintaining accurate records of all transactions, communications, and documents related
to cargo clearance for future reference and audits.
viii) Providing regular updates to clients and management on the progress of cargo clearance.
2. Qualifications and Skills:
i) Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
ii) Certification in Clearing and Forwarding, Specialized training or certification courses in
clearing and forwarding.
iii) Understanding of customs procedures, import/export regulations, and border control
policies is essential.
iv) Experience in logistics, customs clearance, or freight forwarding. Experience
handling border cargo or working with customs authorities is particularly
beneficial.
v) Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customs officials, and reporting supervisor.
vi) Understanding of safety standards, especially when handling hazardous or sensitive
cargo.
vii) High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
