Important Guidelines for Loan Applicants – Academic Year 2026/2027
Loan Application criteria 2026/27

All applicants seeking student loans for the 2026/2027 academic year are advised to carefully follow the requirements below to ensure a successful application process.

1. Read the Application Guidelines Carefully

Before starting your application, make sure you understand and follow all procedures outlined in the official loan application guide.

2. Use the Correct Form Four Index Number

The Form Four Index Number entered in your loan application must be the same one used when applying for admission to the Law School of Tanzania.

3. Have a Valid National Physical Address (NaPA)

Applicants must possess a current National Physical Address (NaPA) issued by the Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology.

4. Obtain a National Identification Number (NIN)

All applicants aged 18 years and above must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

5. Verify Birth and Death Certificates

Any birth or death certificates submitted must be certified by RITA or ZCSRA to confirm their authenticity.

6. Requirements for Applicants Born Abroad

Applicants born outside Tanzania must obtain verification letters from RITA or ZCSRA. The same requirement applies to applicants whose parent(s) passed away abroad.

7. Evaluation of Foreign Qualifications

Applicants with foreign academic qualifications must ensure their certificates are evaluated and approved by NECTA, NACTVET, or TCU, and declare the equivalent index number provided.

8. Provide an Active Bank Account

The bank account submitted must be active and registered under the same name appearing on the applicant’s academic certificates.

9. Use a Reachable Mobile Number

Applicants should provide an active mobile phone number, as it will be used for updates regarding application status and loan disbursement.

10. Have a Qualified Guarantor

Every applicant must provide a guarantor aged 18 years or above with a valid NIN or Zanzibar Resident ID. The guarantor may be a parent, guardian, or family member.

11. Complete and Certify the Application Form

Ensure the online application form is fully completed. Pages 2 and 5 must be signed and certified by the relevant authorities before submission.

12. Review Before Submission

Carefully review the entire application and correct any errors before submitting it.

13. Observe Application Deadlines

All applicants must submit their applications within the official deadline period.

14. Avoid Forgery

Any applicant found submitting forged documents or false information will be disqualified and may face legal action.

15. Track Your Application Progress

Applicants are encouraged to regularly check their SIPA accounts for updates on application status and results.
